A quick how to commission a mural guide.

design boardSketch up a mural designIf your not sure how to go about commissioning a mural for your home or business I've put together a quick step by step guide on the process, so you'll know what to expect and what I'll need to know before I start.

1.  The first stage is to work out what you want, be it specific images you have in mind or a general idea we can work on.  And where you want it, a rough idea of the size of the wall is very useful.

2.  Give me a call and I'll discuss your designs, colours and any other options.  If need be I'll visit the site to have a look and meet with you.

3. When your agreed upon a design I'll book you into my diary at a time to suit yourselves, and complete any sketches of the design and colour matching to existing paintwork / features etc.

I bring my own dust sheets to protect carpets and furniture so there's no mess (if you move and cover furniture that's fine too!). And masking tape to cover items such as plug sockets, light switches etc, unless it's been arranged to incorporate them into the mural.

5. I paint your mural!  This starts with a few measurements, a sketch in chalk / pencil / paint. Then a process of building up the colours and shapes and finally the addition of any details. Naturally any traces of mess are removed when I leave, the paint dries very quickly and in a well ventilated room any paint odours will disappear within an hour or so.

Remember to fill out as much detail as possible on the quote form and we can get your project going!
